Two GrayRobinson Attorneys Appointed to Client's Security Fund Committee of the Florida Bar
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (July 29, 2009) -- Daniel Alter, an Employment & Labor practice and ERISA & Employee Benefits practice attorney, and Ronald J. Tomassi, Jr., a Litigation practice attorney, at GrayRobinson P.A. in Fort Lauderdale have been appointed to serve a three year term on the Client's Security Fund Committee of The Florida Bar. The Client's Security Fund Committee of The Florida Bar is responsible for reviewing grievances from clients regarding either misappropriation of funds entrusted to a lawyer or acceptance of fees without performing the associated work. The Client's Security Fund was founded in 1967 by Florida lawyers and to date has reimbursed more than $11 million to those affected by attorneys gone astray. Since its inception, funding has been made possible by a fraction of annual fees paid to The Florida Bar by its members. Alter has more than 14 years of experience and is an ERISA litigator whose practice covers the full range of employee benefits litigation with a focus in representing the interests of employers, third party administrators, and health and disability insurers in benefit claim disputes. Tomassi's practice has included complex commercial litigation at the trial and appellate levels in the federal and state courts of Florida in addition to work on significant arbitration cases. He has experience working on a variety of areas including class actions, cross-border disputes, and probate litigation among others. He is a member of The Florida Bar, a Board member on the Broward County Chapter of the Federal Bar Association,and is admitted to practice in the Middle and Southern District Courts of Florida, and the Eleventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. ###
