Snyder Joins GrayRobinson Intellectual Property Group in Tampa Office
TAMPA, Fla. (August 3, 2009) -- John J. "Jay" Snyder joined the Tampa office of GrayRobinson, P.A. as a shareholder in the Intellectual Property practice group. Snyder will handle various forms of intellectual property law including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and related licensing and litigation. Snyder has 15 years of intellectual property experience. Until joining GrayRobinson, he was lead Corporate Intellectual Property Counsel to the $3 billion Intelligence and Information Systems business segment of Raytheon Company in Garland, Texas where he provided oversight and management of all areas of intellectual property law, commercial transactions and licensing, Government Data Rights issues under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR ) and the Department of Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS ), intellectual property issues related to Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestitures and overall management of the Business Segment's worldwide patent and trademark portfolios. Prior to Raytheon, he worked as a patent attorney in private practice for Stein & Schifino in Tampa and then Jones & Askew, LLP in Atlanta, where he provided intellectual property counsel to various clients. Mr. Snyder is a member of The Florida Bar and is registered to practice as a patent attorney before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He earned his law degree from the University of Dayton School of Law, where he participated in the Law and Technology Intellectual Property Program. He graduated from the University of South Florida with his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
