GrayRobinson Shareholder Gary Resnick Continues Political Growth in Florida

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (September 1, 2009) - GrayRobinson, P.A. announced today that Gary Resnick, chair of the Communications, Cable & Broadband practice in its Fort Lauderdale, Fla. office, was recently elected to a two-year term in the Florida League of Mayors Board of Directors. In addition, Resnick was appointed to the Florida League of Cities President's Executive Committee.

The Florida League of Mayors is a nonpartisan organization of mayors in the state of Florida whose primary goal is to "provide a platform of outreach to citizens for Florida's mayors." The League of Mayors' Board of Directors is comprised of 21 members, 10 of whom serve one-year terms and 11 serving two-year terms. The exclusive mayors-only-membership provides opportunities for networking, sharing best practices and learning through education programs.

"I'm excited about my election to the Florida League of Mayors Board of Directors and am looking forward to assisting in the development of policies and sharing of practices that are beneficial to our constituents across the entire state," said Resnick.

Resnick was also recently appointed to the President's Executive Committee for the Florida League of Cities by Mayor John Marks of Tallahassee who was elected as the new president in August 2009. As a member of the Executive Committee, Resnick will advise the Florida League on administrative, legislative, and policy matters to improve the quality of life for all Floridians.

After serving on the City Commission for 10 years (1998-2008), Resnick was elected Mayor for the City of Wilton Manors in November 2008. He is currently the president of the Broward League of Cities and is involved in numerous civic and charitable organizations in his city and throughout the county.
