Florida Bar Agricultural Update Seminar Features Three GrayRobinson Attorneys (11/22/09)

Two GrayRobinson, P.A. attorneys presented relevant topics while Jacksonville attorney Sid Ansbacher moderated a Florida Bar seminar.

Michael G. Prendergast and William H. Andrews, both of GrayRobinson's Jacksonville office, spoke at the "Agricultural Update" seminar November 20, 2009 on issues relating to Florida's agricultural laws.

Prendergast, a shareholder in GrayRobinson's Jacksonville office, addressed the Fair Labor Standard Act's (FLSA) agricultural exemption in his presentation "Agricultural Exemption and Other Wage and Hour Issues Affecting Agricultural Workers."

Andrews, an Employment and Labor attorney in the Jacksonville office, presented "The Highlights of the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act."

Ansbacher will moderate the event along with Michael Olexa of the University of Florida. Ansbacher holds an LL.M. in Agricultural Law from the University of Arkansas. His practice includes environmental, government, petroleum and land use law.

The seminar was held at the Florida Farm Bureau, 5700 SW 34th Street, Gainesville, Florida and is offered on behalf of The Florida Bar Continuing Legal Education Committee, the General Practice Solo & and Small Firm Section and the Environmental & Land Use Law Section.
