Garrard Expands Employment & Labor Practice in Naples
NAPLES, Fla. (Oct. 5, 2009) -- GrayRobinson, P.A. announced today that Amy L. Garrard has joined the firm's Employment & Labor practice as a shareholder in the Naples office. GrayRobinson has experienced continuous growth in the past 12 months, expanding the firm's statewide presence and increasing its breadth of legal services. Garrard is the first Labor & Employment practice attorney in the Naples office. Additionally, the firm also defends clients against Equal Employment Opportunity charges in the investigation and litigation stages at the federal, state and local levels, and has represented clients in wage and hour cases as well as resisting the unionization of an employer's work force, union elections conducted by the government (NLRB or PERC), collective bargaining, arbitration and unfair labor practice litigation. For the past 13 years, Garrard has primarily focused her practice in the labor and employment law sector where she has handled a variety of matters for an array of clients, including Fortune 500 companies. She has successfully represented clients in cases of alleged discrimination, harassment, wrongful discharge, and other employment related matters at both state and federal litigation proceedings. In addition, she has experience in assisting human resource personnel in drafting corporate policies, training supervisors and managers, as well as handling disciplinary and discharge issues. Garrard is a member of The Florida Bar and the Collier County Bar Association, and is Legislative Chair for HR Collier and sits on the Board of Directors for Southwest Florida Workforce Development Board.
