Community Leader Forum - Orlando - Cecil B. Wilson, MD (10/28/09)

ORLANDO, Fla. (October 28, 2009) -- Dr. Cecil Wilson addressed a room full of central Florida community and business leaders Wednesday at the GrayRobinson Community Leader Forum and discussed health care reform and the importance of giving back to your community.

Dr. Wilson began by sharing his distinguished record of service and leadership in organized medicine. He emphasized the importance of dedicating your talents and time to improving your community.

As president-elect of the American Medical Association (AMA), Dr. Wilson explained the AMA's position on health care reform. Quoting an ancient Chinese story, Dr. Wilson explained that the nation's health care needed to be reformed decades ago, but since it has not happened yet, it needs to happen now. He also said that the economic downturn exacerbated the need to overhaul the cumbersome health care system.
