GrayRobinson Attorneys David Ottinger and Brendan Hobbs presented “ESOP Compliance and Regulatory Update: What You Need to Know to Effectively Manage Risk” at the second annual ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plans) Association Florida Chapter Conference.
David and Brendan’s presentation provided an overview of the Department of Labor (DOL) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and their authority and investigative process. Additionally, discussion topics included legislation, regulatory updates, and recent trends in litigation.
David has over 40 years of diverse experience representing business entities and individuals in corporate and business, taxation, and estate planning. A sophisticated and cerebral advisor, his focus includes business transactions, and corporate and tax law matters. Over the past 23 years, David has developed a particular niche of national scope in establishing and administrating ESOPs and their related employee benefits issues.
Brendan is an accomplished associate in the GrayRobinson Tampa office. He focuses his practice on a range of corporate matters, including transaction structuring and the design and implementation of qualified retirement plans, namely ESOPs, and nonqualified plans of deferred compensation.
