George Levesque has been collaborating with clients at the intersection of law and politics for more than twenty years. A sage and strategic counselor, he advises private and government sector clients on all aspects of legislative, regulatory, and political law. George brings invaluable insights and experiences to every client engagement, with an insider’s understanding of sound rulemaking and effective interactions with government officeholders. As a former policy advisor to presiding officers in both the Florida House and Senate, he has advised on diverse matters involving the criminal and civil justice systems and the courts, regulated industries and professions, health care, insurance, gaming, and taxation, among others.
Prior to joining GrayRobinson, George served as special counsel and policy advisor to the Florida Speaker of the House of Representatives, representing that chamber in successful gaming compact negotiations on behalf of the State of Florida. He also served as general counsel for the Florida House and as general counsel to the Florida Senate. In those capacities, he advised and represented both chambers of the Legislature on legislation and litigation involving redistricting and challenges to the adequacy of Florida’s public education system. George also served as a Senate special master and oversaw the Senate special master and claim bill processes.
