ORLANDO, Fla. – GrayRobinson is pleased to announce Robert “Bob” Lloyd has affiliated with the firm as of counsel in its Litigation Section. A fourth-generation Volusia County native with extensive insurance claims and litigation experience, Lloyd will be located in the firm’s Orlando office and accessible to clients in the Daytona Beach, Gainesville, and Washington, D.C., areas.
Lloyd counsels his insurance clients in risk management, cybersecurity, crisis response, and regulatory and compliance matters. Prior to his affiliation with GrayRobinson, Lloyd spent over 25 years at Brown & Brown, Inc. [NYSE: BRO], where he served in the executive leadership of the company as it grew from $154 million to over $4 billion in revenue over his career.

Throughout his career, Lloyd has focused his efforts on driving significant growth in the insurance industry while assiduously attending to enterprise risk management and loss control. Over a quarter of a century, he has developed extensive experience in strategy, mergers and acquisitions, sales, marketing, communications, and digital initiatives. He is also highly adept at advising insurance carriers and brokers, Insurtech firms, private equity, investment banking, commercial banking, healthcare insurance, government contractors, and family-owned businesses.

In 2018 and 2021, Lloyd was recognized by Florida Trend Magazine, People to Know; in 2022, he was recognized on the GC Powerlist, Miami; and in 2023, he was recognized by the University of Florida Levin College of Law for the Outstanding Alumnus Award. He is a three-decade member of The Florida Bar and has served in numerous leadership positions with organizations such as the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers, the Daytona Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce, Daytona State College Board of Trustees, and the Florida Association of Insurance Agents.
Lloyd received his Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida. He is a Certified Insurance Counselor, Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter, and a Florida-licensed property and casualty insurance agent. He is admitted to practice law in Florida and before the Florida Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, and the U.S. District Court of the Southern and Middle District of Florida.
