Their presentation provided an essential overview of labor and employment regulations that emerging businesses must navigate. The duo broke down common legal pitfalls and offered practical compliance strategies to help start-ups stay on the right side of the law. Topics included the Fair Labor Standards Act and when start-ups may be required to pay minimum wage and overtime to executives, independent contractors, and interns. By understanding these legal obligations, entrepreneurs can avoid costly government investigations or litigation that could hinder their growth.
